Reading - A Fresh Start

Emma slowly opened her eyes as the morning sunlight streamed through her curtains. She yawned and stretched her arms, feeling the warmth of the new day. The alarm clock on her bedside table showed 7:00 AM—time to get up.

She swung her legs out of bed and slipped into her cozy slippers. The wooden floor was cool under her feet as she walked to the bathroom. After splashing some water on her face, she brushed her teeth and combed her tangled hair. The refreshing minty taste of the toothpaste made her feel more awake.

Downstairs in the kitchen, the smell of freshly brewed coffee filled the air. Her husband, Daniel, had already prepared breakfast—a plate of scrambled eggs, crispy toast, and a bowl of sliced fruit. Emma poured herself a cup of orange juice and sat down at the table.

“Don’t forget your lunchbox,” Daniel reminded her, handing her a small bag with a sandwich, an apple, and a bottle of water. Emma nodded gratefully and finished her meal quickly.

Back in her room, she picked out a comfortable outfit—a soft sweater and a pair of jeans. She packed her backpack carefully, making sure she had her notebook, pencil case, and the book she was currently reading.

Before leaving, she glanced at herself in the mirror and adjusted her scarf. Taking a deep breath, she grabbed her keys and stepped outside. The crisp morning air greeted her, and she smiled. Today was going to be a good day.
