Reading - Helping Farmers Around the World

Read the text and complete the activities below.

Do you like chocolate and coffee? Most people do! But do you know where they come from? Many products come from farmers in small villages in Africa, Asia, or South America.

These farmers work very hard every day. However, sometimes they do not receive enough money for their work. This makes life difficult for their families.

Fair Trade is a special system. When you see the Fair Trade logo on a banana or a chocolate bar, it means the farmer receives a fair price. This money helps the farmers pay for schools, clothes, and medicine. It also means the farmers work in safe places.

When we buy Fair Trade products, we help people around the world. It is a simple way to be kind. Next time you go to the supermarket, look for the green and blue logo. You can change a life with one small choice!
