Podcast Transcript

Hello! Welcome to 'Easy Science'. Today, we are talking about the sun. Look up at the sky. The sun is a big, yellow star. It is very hot and very bright.

The sun is a good friend to our Earth. It gives us light so we can see in the day. It gives us heat so we are not cold. Plants love the sun, too. A plant needs water, dirt, and sunlight to grow big and green.

But did you know the sun can give us electricity? Yes, it can! People put big, dark panels on the roofs of their houses. These are called solar panels. The solar panels catch the sunlight and turn it into power for the TV, the fridge, and the lights. Solar power is amazing because it is very clean. It does not make the air dirty. Thank you, happy sun!
