Reading - Railay Beach: A Tropical Paradise

Read the text and complete the activities below.

Railay Beach is a very famous place in the province of Krabi, Thailand. It is located on a peninsula, but it feels like an island. This is because there are high limestone cliffs around it, so you cannot go there by car or bus. The only way to reach the beach is by taking a traditional "long-tail" boat from the nearby towns. Because there are no cars, the air is very clean and the area is very quiet.

The beach is famous for its white sand and clear blue water. Many tourists visit Railay to relax and swim. However, it is also a world-class destination for rock climbing. People from many countries come to climb the tall cliffs and see the beautiful view from the top. At the end of the day, visitors usually sit on the sand to watch the amazing sunset over the ocean.

One of the most interesting spots in Railay is Phra Nang Cave. Local fishermen believe a princess lives in the cave, and they leave small gifts there for good luck. The cave is right on the beach, and the limestone formations are incredible. Railay is a small place, but it has everything you need for a perfect vacation: sun, adventure, and beautiful nature.
