Reading - A Day at the Museum

Read the text and complete the activities below.

Welcome to the City Museum! Today is May 18th. It is International Museum Day.

Museums are amazing places. People visit museums to see old things, beautiful art, and ancient history. They open in the morning and close in the evening. Visitors buy an entry ticket at the front desk. A friendly tour guide can help you understand the history of each exhibition item.

In this museum, there is a big room for history. You can see ancient clothes, old coins, and gold crowns from kings. There are also beautiful paintings on the walls in the art room. Many people like the modern art section, too.

Children love the science room. There is a huge skeleton of a T-Rex dinosaur. It is fantastic! Remember, you cannot touch the exhibition items, but you can take photos in some rooms.

Before you leave, you can visit the museum gift shop to buy postcards, books, and small toys. There is also a small café to drink coffee and eat delicious cake. Museums are never boring!
