Read the text below and complete the activities:

In Spain, New Year's Eve (Nochevieja) is famous for a unique tradition. Thousands of people gather in the Puerta del Sol square in Madrid, and millions watch on TV. The main event happens when the clock strikes midnight.

The tradition is to eat 12 grapes, one for each chime of the clock. You have to be very fast! If you manage to eat all 12 grapes before the bells stop ringing, it is said that you will have good luck and prosperity for the 12 months of the coming year. This tradition started in the late 19th century or early 20th century. Some say it was invented by grape farmers who had too many grapes that year and needed to sell them! Today, people often buy small tins with 12 peeled grapes inside to make it easier to swallow them quickly. It creates a moment of chaos and laughter right at the start of the year.
