Grammar - The Passive Voice in Film History

Read the text and complete the activities below.

We use the passive voice to focus on the action or the object rather than the subject. It is very common in historical and technical contexts.

Past Simple Passive: Subject + was/were + past participle.

Context: Charles Chaplin was born on April 16th, 1889. His films were watched by millions.
