🟢 Level 1 (Journaling)

Task: Charles Chaplin used the "Little Tramp" to show how the poor were treated by society in the 1930s. Today, in 2026, we have different struggles. Reflect on a modern social issue (e.g., how the elderly are forgotten in a digital world or how nature is destroyed by industry). Write a 70-80 word paragraph explaining why this issue would be a perfect topic for a silent movie today.

Task: Imagine you just watched a restored version of Modern Times for Chaplin's birthday (April 16th). Write a short caption (max. 40 words) for Instagram or X. Use at least one Passive Voice construction to describe the film's impact.

Task: Imagine you are a silent film director in 2026. You are filming a scene called "The Smartest Phone." Describe a short scene (80-100 words) where the Tramp tries to use a modern smartphone. Describe his clumsy movements and use at least three passive constructions (e.g., "The phone was dropped", "A selfie was taken by accident", "He was confused by the screen").
