Reading - Why I Still Buy Notebooks

Reading Activity: Why I Still Buy Notebooks

Read the text and complete the activities below.

Do you remember the last time you bought a pen? In 2026, most people carry a smartphone or a tablet everywhere. We use keyboards to send messages, write emails at work, and even take notes in meetings. It is very fast, and digital documents are easy to organize. You can "Search" for a word and find it in one second.

However, there is a problem. When we type very fast, we sometimes don't think about the information. Our fingers move, but our brain is "sleeping." Many teachers say that students who use pens and paper are better at remembering lessons. Why? Because writing by hand is slower. You have to choose the most important words to write down.

Also, a notebook doesn't have "notifications." When you write in a diary, you don't see ads or messages from Instagram. It is just you and the paper. It is a moment of peace in a very busy digital world. I love my laptop for work, but for my personal dreams and big ideas, I always choose a beautiful notebook and a blue pen.
