Idiom - To hit the books

"Hit the books" means "to study hard." It is often used when someone needs to focus on learning, especially before a test.

Equivalent in Brazilian Portuguese: "Estudar muito" (more natural)

Examples:

I have an exam tomorrow, so I need to hit the books tonight.
